At the moment I am obsessed with the Raw Food Diet. I find that the food feels very clean when I eat it. I don't worry about where its been because it is mostly fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts. I feel less heavy after a Raw Food Meal and the recipes I have found are very tasty. My favorite dessert recipe so far is the Raw Food Brownie Recipe. It is out of this world and who knew it was made of avocados? Wow. If you are wondering why anyone would ever give up a cooked steak or a good piece of friend chicken for a Raw Food diet. Take a look at some of these benefits. Here is what Vicki F. Chavis says about the Raw Food movement.
Raw Foods
The benefits of eating raw foods include:
- Raw foods haven't been cooked and contain high levels of enzymes and vital nutrients.
- Enzymes are the proteins that accelerate the rate of chemical reactions, including those involved in digestion and metabolism.
- Phytonutrients are plant-derived, biologically active chemicals that are considered able to prevent diseases.
Raw pie crusts, for example, are made from nuts, coconut and salt, which gives them a buttery flavor. Adding dates binds ingredients together.
When food is cooked, it loses its moisture and becomes more dense. Raw foods, full of water, fill you up much more quickly, allowing you to eat much less.
