How to Make Yourself Comfortable on a Plane

Are you excited for your vacation, but dreading the economy seat on the plane? The worst part of traveling is definitely not packing, it is going through TSA and the actual flight where you have to sit in a seat where even a petite person does not have enough leg room. Did they suddenly add another 2 rows of seats in each cabin in the last few years? The leg room and full flights make flights pretty uncomfortable these days. To prepare for your next flight, I have a few suggestions for what you can do to make your flying experience a little more pleasant.

Hydrate
Make sure to buy water at the airport and bring along some fruit for your journey. It is very dehydrating to be on the plane so you want to stay hydrated the whole time you are on the plane. Avoid alcohol drinks on the plane as that will exacerbate dehydration.
Workout
Try to at least stretch and take a short walk before your flight and try to get some exercise as soon as you arrive. This will help your body get on the schedule of the place that you are visiting whether it is 9 hours ahead or 3 hours behind. You can also try to walk around on the plane to stretch your legs.
Deep Breathing
Take 10 deep breaths in the am and sit for a few minutes and meditate. This should get your day started on the right note. Getting oxygen in your body will help awaken your senses and relax your mind so you can start your day with lots of energy.
Rescue Remedy
Go to your local natural pharmacy and pick up a few items like Bach's rescue remedy to help relieve stress on the plane. Just a few drops of Bach's rescue remedy is supposed to help relieve daily stress. If you feel stress on the plane, just put a few drops in your water.
Medications
If you take special medications during the day. Make sure to pack and take them on the plane with you so you have them with you when you arrive on the plane.
Eye Mask, Noise Cancellation Earphones, Earplugs
Get yourself an eye mask to block out the light to help you get the rest you need on the plane. Bring earplugs to block out the noise around you or get Noise Cancellation Earphones will block out the noise and help you get the rest you need.
Bring a shawl
Bring a shawl with you so you don't have to use the blankets that the airlines give you. It will give you a little comfort since it is your shawl from home and it won't have anyone's germs on it.
Pack some lunch or food you like as snacks
Pack food that is healthy for lunch for yourself so you don't have to be at the mercy of the airport restaurants. Everything is always healthier if you bring your own food from home. Snack on dried fruit like Megafruit and get nutrients and fiber out of a healthy snack.
